UNLV’s Bellfield burns Louisville again for upset win

Nearly 11 months after he scored the game-winning basket to beat nationally-ranked Louisville, UNLV guard Oscar Bellfield led the Runnin’ Rebels to another upset over the Cardinals. With the score tied at 64, the sophomore scored four straight points and the Rebels hung on for the 76-71 victory over #16 Louisville.

Rebels rally in second half to win fourth straight over rival UNR

UNLV trailed by 12 points in the second half when coach Lon Kruger called a timeout and shook up his lineup. The Rebels responded with a 23-4 run. UNLV defeated rival UNR, 88-75, winning its fourth straight over the Wolf Pack.

1990 title team honored at UNLV’s season opener

The 1990 Runnin’ Rebels captured the national championship and many consider that squad the greatest in NCAA history. UNLV celebrated the 20-year anniversary over a two-day span that included a banquet, golf outing, and ceremony at the Thomas & Mack Center.

In a game all high school football fans were aching to see, Bishop Gorman defeated Palo Verde to advance to the Sunset Region Championship game. The Gaels will face Cimarron-Memorial, which upset undefeated Legacy.
